LC Tree Service received a request for the tree removal of a towering pine tree that precariously hung over a residential neighborhood in Bay Park, San Diego. As majestic as it was, it was becoming a nuisance for the residents who were constantly rained upon with pine needles and roots that knew no bounds. However, the biggest issue was not the prementioned nuances, but it was the glaring threat of the tree’s heavy branches weighing a ton that suspended 150 feet above homes with young children.
While this was only supposed to be a 4-day project, the job ended up taking several months to complete. On day one, the crew learned that a hawk’s nest was perched on one of the tree’s soaring limbs. This discovery caused an immediate halt to the project, since tampering with any hawk nest is punishable with hefty fines over $100,000. After waiting several months for clearance, the tree removal project was able to commence and safely completed.
