No. While most people are present during an appointment, some cannot be there due to schedule conflicts. If you can’t be there for your appointment, it’s no problem at all. With your permission, your estimator can visit your property to examine the work that you would like accomplished and contact you with any questions. Then your quote will be emailed to you, typically within 24 hours after the initial visit.

In some cases, yes—but most projects require an in-person estimate. To provide an accurate quote, our ISA Certified Arborist needs to evaluate your tree and property firsthand. Factors such as the tree’s species, size, condition, location, and proximity to structures, power lines, slopes, and landscaping all affect the scope of work and the equipment required.

For simple projects, especially trees located near the street, clear photos or recent Google Street View images may provide enough information for us to prepare an estimate remotely. However, most projects require an on-site visit to ensure we provide an accurate quote with no unexpected surprises.

Absolutely! LC Tree Service is fully licensed, insured, and bonded for your protection and peace of mind. We carry both workers’ compensation and general liability insurance, helping protect our employees, our customers, and every property we work on. If you’d like, we’re happy to provide proof of insurance upon request.

Yes. We provide emergency tree services for hazardous trees, storm damage, fallen trees, and other situations that pose an immediate risk to people or property. If you have a tree emergency, contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll make every effort to respond quickly.

LC Tree Service began as LC Tree Trimming in 2008. It started when a newlywed outdoorsman, Larry Coalson, quickly grew tired of his indoor office job. He longed to be outdoors in the fresh air, getting dirty. But with his first child on the way, how could he support his family? Trimming trees! It was a trade he learned in his 20s, and he loved it!

So, Larry quit his day job to jump fully into starting a new tree service business in San Diego. He had a truck. He had a trailer. And he had a chainsaw. Why not?

LC Tree Trimming had very humble beginnings. Larry spent countless hours walking neighborhoods, handing out flyers door-to-door, answering every phone call himself, and completing nearly every job with only an occasional helper.

But the direction of the company changed when his wife, Lynnette, joined her husband. She developed a business strategy, built the company’s marketing, and helped transform a one-man operation into a thriving company. The company was incorporated in 2012 as LC Tree Service Inc. What started with one man with a pickup truck grew into a company with multiple crews and over a dozen staff members.

Today, LC Tree Service has completed thousands of projects throughout San Diego County, from residential tree trimming to complex commercial work for municipalities and large organizations. Although we’ve grown tremendously since those early days, our mission remains the same—to provide honest recommendations, exceptional workmanship, and outstanding customer service on every project.
