As the sun began to rise early in the morning on September 19, 2018, large forestry trucks with logos representing different tree service companies in San Diego began to make their way gently through the delicate grounds of the Fort Rosecrans Cemetery.  In fact, on that same day, more than 3,000 tree professionals gathered at 53 different veteran cemeteries throughout the U.S., and even one down in Mexico — resulting in about $3 million of donated tree services in an event facilitated by Saluting Branches.

Saluting Branches is a non-profit organization that was created “to honor American service men and women by organizing volunteer tree and landscape care for the property dedicated to our veterans.”  Every year, the organization coordinates a simultaneous event in which tree service professionals around the country get to unite for a worthy cause.

LC Tree Service has been donating its services for the past four years for the Saluting Branches event.  CEO, Larry Coalson, has even had the pleasure of acting as Site Leader for the San Diego location in the years 2015, 2016, and 2018, and Assistant Site Leader in 2017.  In addition, our hardworking tree trimmers and ground men have volunteered their time and skills to keep the beloved burial grounds beautifully maintained for our fallen military, our veterans, and for their visiting loved ones.

This is just one simple way of showing our sincere gratitude to those brave men and women who serve or have served our country — allowing us to enjoy the freedom and safety that we often take for granted.
